What is Blackout Weekend?
Blackout Weekend is a transformative two-day event hosted by The Gentlemen’s League that combines the conclusion of the Elementary Basketball League with the 5th Annual Boys of Color Conference. This powerful weekend focuses on uplifting and empowering boys of color, fostering community, and illuminating their brilliance, strength, and potential.
Redefining "Blackout" – Shedding Light, Not Darkness
Traditionally associated with darkness and disconnection, we’re redefining "Blackout" to shine a light on the potential and possibilities of boys of color.
B.L.A.C.K.O.U.T. stands for "Building Leadership and Cultivating Knowledge to Overcome, Understand, and Train." This reflects our commitment to growth, resilience, and empowerment.
The Gentlemen’s League Elementary Basketball Championship. The weekend kicks off with the Elementary Basketball Championship, where boys in grades 3-5 showcase their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This exciting event celebrates their hard work on and off the court while tying into our mission of perseverance, unity, and community-building. Learn more about the League here.
