The 4th Blackout Weekend: Boys of Color Conference is an all-day conference hosted by The Gentlemen's League. The Blackout 2024 serves to uplift our future leaders –students in grades 3-12 – and raise awareness on issues such as economic empowerment, health, voting, education, leadership development and more.
The conference will be held in February 2024, in Memphis, TN. During the weekend, Gentlemen of The Blackout will be able to obtain necessary resources needed to be successful. These resources include, mentors and advisors, team building, workshops, possible internships, community service opportunities, and most importantly academic enrichment.
The purpose of The Blackout is to close the gap between students and the community. The B.L.A.C.K.O.U.T. or “Building Leadership and Cultivating Knowledge to Overcome, Understand, and Train” sole purpose is to bring the community closer in fellowship and awareness. This year’s theme is “Restoring the Power through Leadership.”

Boys of Color Conference & Service Project
9:00am – 4:00pm CST: The Blackout will kick off with our conference. Gentlemen will host workshops and participate in discussions with boys of color in grades 3-11. We hope that you leave better than you came. Our mission is that participants will leave sure of their purpose. Continental Breakfast and Lunch Provided.

The BLACKOUT BANQUET7:00pm - 9:00pm CST: The Blackout Blast will celebrate our fifth year, the history and stories of The Gentlemen's League will be shared in a creative format through the lens of our Gentlemen, male student of color. You'll learn the latest exciting news about TGL's current work and our vision for the future. All proceeds from the Soiree event will support The Gentlemen's League's efforts to develop, support, and mentor male students of color.
