The 2nd Annual Blackout: Boys of Color Conference is an all-day conference hosted by The Gentlemen's League. The Blackout 2019 serves to uplift our future leaders –students in grades 3-12 – and raise awareness on issues such as economic empowerment, health, voting, education, leadership development and more.
The conference will be held in May 2021, in Memphis, TN. During the weekend, Gentlemen of The Blackout will be able to obtain necessary resources needed to be successful. These resources include, mentors and advisors, team building, workshops, possible internships, community service opportunities, and most importantly academic enrichment.
The purpose of The Blackout is to close the gap between students and the community. The B.L.A.C.K.O.U.T. or “Building Leadership and Cultivating Knowledge to Overcome, Understand, and Train” sole purpose is to bring the community closer in fellowship and awareness. This year’s theme is “Restoring the Power through Leadership.”
